At the Launch of the Annual Paddy Flanagan Memorial Waterford to Tramore Road Race, Mrs. Mary Flanagan, Fintain Walsh, Waterford AC PRO; Diane Behan, Waterford AC Secretary; Gail Watson, Blue Wall; Dereck Tebay, Bluewall; Mary Tebay, Bluewall; Frank Quinlan, Waterford AC Captain and Dylan Quinlan. Photo: Gavin  DowneySaturday May 5th at 7pm.  Race 3 of the Ger Wyley/Nike Sports Summer Series. The race starts in Waterford city and goes out the Tramore road to finish in Tramore opposite the Majestic Hotel. Showers, refreshments and prize giving in the GAA centre in Tramore after.

National Lifeguard Training Centre

Tramore Surf Lifesaving Club who recently received full Planning permission for a National Lifeguard Training Centre unveils its plans in the presents of Minister for Environment Phil Hogan and Chairperson of Irish Water Safety Breda Collins. This new and exciting venture between Waterford County Council and the Tramore Club is a first in Ireland.

The Surf Lifesaving Club which is part of Water Safety, Waterford has over 100 members and has been training children and adults the art of Surf Lifesaving for many years now. The club holds many National and International awards for Board Rescue, can buoy rescue, speed swim, ski races as well as beach events.

The Chairman of the club Michael Cuddihy said 'he was delighted that Minister Hogan has given his time and interest to support the clubs progressive plans.' The Planning permission was granted on the 13th February and was unanimously supported by the entire council. The club now intends to seek supplementary funding from Waterford Leader Partnership.

This will greatly enhance Tramore as a Premier Seaside Resort and add to the safety features already in place for local residents and visitors alike. This Centre will support the Marine Economy in the South East.

Gavin Downey Photography has launched a Tramore town Calendar which will be on Sale in the Credit Union and Cahills Main St, with more stockists to be confirmed.

This Tramore 2012 Calendar was Photographed, Designed and Printed locally in Tramore.

With photos taken by local photographer Gavin Downey of Tramore with some of surrounding Coast and Landscapes.

After being involved in a number calendars around Tramore over the last couple of years: From 2006 to 2011, this year Gavin decided to product a calendar himself, with the help of his cousin Conor Fitzgerald(TY Calendar 2010)

The Calendar will also help raise some funds for 2 local Charity’s,Waterford Hospice &Tramore GAA.

From the race course round about, heading to the schools/xtra-vision you take the first right(Springmount). Then up the hill and about half way there is a left turn, go straight on at that and it's the very next house on the left.

2012 Calendar

The Tramore 2012 Calendar Produced by Gavin Downey Photography with the Help of Conor Fitzgerald and Barry @ Tramore Print. We Would like to thank all of our kind Sponsors/Advertisers for support in getting it off the ground and cover some of the cost of printing.

The Calenders will be on sale late next week 21st October or middle of the following week, in Cahills, Tramore Credit Union and Other Local Shops. Money from the sale of the calendar will be partly given to Waterford Hospice and Partly to Tramore GAA - Astro turf project.

The Calendar features photos from mainly Tramore as well as some from Waterford County surrounding Tramore and make a perfect Christmas Present for at home or to send to family abroad.
